Love, love, love a good Pontiac IL wedding! Jake and Bridget met in the sweetest way – serving the youth group of St. Mary’s Church. Jake proposed to Bridget in Humiston Woods and it made for the perfect backdrop for their portraits – Bridget didn’t complain once about hiking through the woods in heels – and I love brides with a sense of adventure! They also exchanged a really beautiful gift of journals that they will write in to each other frequently – they shared them together for the first time on their wedding day. I felt it was so important to incorporate the journals into their photos because they will be writing their love story in them for years to come!

Bridget’s goddaughter Naomi made for a wonderful flower girl – she was so much fun and clearly has a special relationship with Bridget!

What a love story! Alanna delivered a 10.6 pound baby girl – the biggest yet at the Birth Center of Bloomington Normal! Through it all, she was constantly supported and loved by her husband and the team at the Birth Center. The midwife, Amie, showed such wisdom and patience during Alanna’s labor – the great love and care and constancy for Alanna and her daughter was beautiful to see.

This is truly a family centered birth at the Birth Center of Bloomington Normal. Amila’s big brothers got to hang out in the comfortable family room at the birth center and meet her as soon as Alanna was ready.

Sarah and Mike, way to be awesome. I don’t really have the words to describe what it felt like to witness your wedding day – you guys were sweet with each other and trusting of me. The tears flowed easily and openly, the vows were personal and heartfelt (even if Sarah’s blew MIke’s out of the water ;-)) and the close support of family and friends surrounding you made for a truly perfect day. Because the wedding was so intimate, we fit every guest into a single portrait – I love that you have a record of everyone who celebrated with you. Thank you for sharing a day that was both a joy to witness and document it for you. Congrats, you two!

Josh and Val planned a sweet Bloomington, IL Vineyard Wedding at White Oak Vineyard. There are so many lovely moments between Val and her mom, dad, and cousins – it was easy to see how much they love and support each other. Josh and Val met on a church trip and it is their shared faith that was the center of their wedding. From praying together beforehand, to partaking of communion together to serving each other through foot washing, Val and Josh celebrated the faith on which they will build their marriage. It was an honor to witness such a meaningful ceremony.

Hey friends! Let me introduce Laura and Erik! She is super smart, has beautiful red, killer dimples, and a completely awesome name (it’s just like mine!). Erik is pretty great too: he loves Laura, has a great sense of humor, and although he hates getting his photo taken, he played along with a lot of really good humor. They met through their small church in Elmwood and that’s where they got married surrounded by lots of family and friends who had watched their relationship develop for years, hoping this day would happen. Some of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen at a wedding happened between Laura and her dad – it is clear that they love each other very much. After the ceremony, we took a drive through the country ending up outside Wildlife Prairie Park for some photos and then onto the reception at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Bartonville. Thanks for hanging in there, Erik – it was worth it 🙂
